Shelter Project

Collaboration with the Canterbury Temporary Accommodation Service (CETAS) and with the people involved in the
temporaly housing management process to:

  • better understand the adopted management process;
  • provide the best know-how on predictive models (numbers of displaced people and number of people requiring temporary housings) and decision support tools that are available from the scientific world (e.g. MAEviz, Syner-G);
  • test them on Christchurch case -study to understand if they could have made a difference in the emergency management phase and if are able to make a difference now (while currently facing a very problematic situation with shortages of temporary shelter and houses during the repair/reconstruction of the damaged building stock).
